Privacy Policy

Effective June 13, 2026

Biz Doc is built on a simple principle: your contacts are yours. The app stores all your data locally on your iPhone. There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no servers that hold your contacts.

This page explains what data the app uses, what stays on your device, and the one optional service we use to keep the app reliable.

Who we are

Data stored on your device only

Everything you enter into Biz Doc stays on your iPhone:

• Business cards you scan, including images and extracted fields
• Contact details you add or edit (name, title, company, phone, email, address, custom fields)
• Notes, Action Loop entries, reminders, and promises
• Business groups and Strength Score history
• Calendar events Biz Doc reads from your iOS Calendar (read-only; never modified)
• App settings and preferences

This data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. It is included in standard iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or Finder backup) and is restored to your next iPhone the same way Apple restores any other app's data.

We do not have access to this data. There are no servers, no user accounts, and no cloud sync.

Data sent off your device

Biz Doc uses one third-party service: Sentry, for crash reporting.

If the app crashes, anonymous technical information about the crash is sent to Sentry so the bug can be fixed. This includes:

• Crash stack traces and error messages
• Device model and iOS version
• App version and build number

This does not include:

• Any contact data, card images, notes, or relationship information
• Your name, email, or any personal identifier
• Anything you have entered into the app

Crash reporting is opt-out. You can turn it off any time in Settings → Profile → Crash Reporting.

Permissions

Biz Doc asks for the following iOS permissions, only when needed:

• Camera — to scan business cards. Card images are processed on-device and are never sent to any server.
• Photos — to let you add cards from existing photos in your library. Only the photos you select are read; the app does not browse your library.
• Calendar — to show upcoming meetings and pre-meeting briefs for your contacts. The app reads your calendar only; it does not create, modify, or delete events. No calendar data leaves your device.

You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

On-device text recognition

Biz Doc uses Apple's Vision and VisionKit frameworks to recognize text on scanned business cards. All recognition happens locally on your iPhone. Card images are never uploaded or sent to any external service for processing.

Backup and restore

Biz Doc includes a manual backup feature that exports your data to a JSON file on your device. You choose where the file goes — Files, AirDrop, email, or anywhere else iOS allows sharing. Once exported, the file is outside of Biz Doc's control.

The export contains contact information, including embedded card images. Treat it like any other file containing personal data.

Tracking

Biz Doc does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not show ads. It does not collect device identifiers for advertising. Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework is not invoked because there is nothing to track.

Your rights and choices

Because Biz Doc stores your data only on your device, you are in direct control of it at all times:

• Access — every piece of data the app holds is visible to you inside the app.
• Export — use the manual backup feature to export everything as JSON.
• Delete — delete individual contacts in the app, or delete the app to remove all local data. Soft-deleted contacts are permanently removed after 30 days.
• Revoke permissions — Camera, Photos, and Calendar can each be turned off in iOS Settings.
• Disable crash reporting — turn off in Settings → Profile → Crash Reporting.

Children's privacy

Biz Doc is intended for adult professional use. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app.
